I’ve mentioned before that most paper receipts ARE NOT recyclable because they are printed on thermal paper, which contains a chemical called bisphenol-A (BPA or sometimes bisphenol S), that cannot be easily removed from the paper during the recycling process.
A 2014 study from the United States found an increase in urinary BPA concentrations in people who continuously handled receipts for two hours without gloves at some supermarkets, ATMs and petrol stations 😮
Say no to paper receipts and ask for them to be emailed or text instead 🙌
